When is a lump in our body cancerous? ![]() Have you ever wondered when is a lump in our body cancerous? Well, it was reported that a lump will be found when "cells stop responding to these signals and keep on reproducing" which results a collection of cells formed as a lump at "in any organ, be it on the skin surface or deep within". Do you know that if "the cells also develop the ability to break away from the original site and travel in the blood stream or the lymphatic stream and if the cells grow into, or invade, surrounding structures, then this lump is considered cancerous or malignant." Basically, our cells are "continuously being replaced - live cells divide to form new cells - because most of them have a finite lifespan." and "most cells are programmed to stop dividing and die when they reach this limit. This process of programmed cell death is known as apoptosis" Having a big lump growing within or on the surface of our body is not safe at all, as it can cause disruptions to functionings of our bodies. "For instance, having a big enough lump in the large intestine can block the passage of faeces." Hence, do pay constant changes of our cells and if you experience lumps within, in or on our bodies, do consult a doctor. :) Sheridin:) |
